This familiar residence is situated on top of a hill overlooking the Valle de Fuenfría in Cercedilla, Spain. This project consisted on the design of a summerhouse in the mountains of Madrid. The first aim of for the house was to be integrated into the landscape almost without modification, in such a way that achieves a full connection with the environment (using natural materials and light the wood) and at the same time puts us in a different level, as mere observers in a place that every point of the house is a viewpoint toward the sierra.

The house is sited to protect itself from the prevailing winds – from the north and west. The home opens up to views in the south and creates a protected courtyard in the middle. The west wing contains two bedrooms, a bath and the entrance, while the north wing contains the open floor plan living, dining and kitchen. The third wing is actually an independent tower that includes the garage and storage in its lower level and an open terrace in the upper level. The terrace is linked to the indoor space through a boulevard.

All the elements - structure, façade, windows and indoor sufaces - are buit from light prefabricated elements, such as wood, following a modular construction system.
